Summary: Brandon Segal and Melinda Armstrong are meant for one another. They met when Brandon accidently bumped into Melinda. Brandon is realizing that Melinda is the one for him.

Brandon Segal had stuck with those words that his girlfriend, Melinda Armstrong. When he heard that was put on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings, he could not believe that they would just put him on waivers. He didn’t know that they would send him through waivers again. He didn’t know if he did something wrong or if the team didn’t like him. He had love to grown the city of LA. He didn’t want to move again. He should be happy and living his dreams. Once again, he’s moving and one team picked him…the Dallas Stars. It means a new city and team to get used to. But he should be happy cause if Dallas didn’t picked him, he would never met Melinda. She was the manager of the Stars Stuff store. She was also an intern for the Web Designer of the Dallas Stars.
Brandon had never knew that Melinda was the one who would make his life a better place and he loved her for that. He was never happy when he had to change teams and Melinda made him realize that there is more to than hockey. He had gone through ups and downs throughout his career and he was hoping that Dallas was going to be the city. He also loved Melinda and wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. He loved her so much.
Brandon had remembered when he first met Melinda. This woman had more energy than any other woman he had met. She was career motivated and helped him more than he ever knew. He had bumped into her accidentally as he was trying to find out where the Dallas Stars locker room was.

Brandon looked around and had no clue where in the world he was going. He needed some kind of guidance to where needed to go. Is there anyone who an help him out? Brandon wasn’t paying attention where he was going and saw a young woman with long dark brown hair and beautiful big brown eyes, wearing a nice green dress shirt and black dressy Capri’s, looking at him. “I am so sorry, Miss. I didn’t mean to bump into you.”
“It’s okay. Wait, are you Brandon Segal, the newest Dallas Stars player?”
“Yes, I am,” Brandon replied, looking at the girl curious. “You are?”
“How rude of me. My name is Melinda Armstrong and I am the manager over the Stars stuff store and intern for the web design. The Dallas Stars told me that they just acquired a new addition to the team.”
“Hi, Melinda. I am kind of new to this city and team. Do you know the directions on how to get to the Stars locker room? I am supposed to meet the team and GM there.”
“Yes, I do. I am supposed to show you where you are supposed to go. I was waiting for you. So come on with me.” Melinda walked away as she winked at Brandon.
Brandon nodded as he wonder why this young woman was flirting with him. He used to be the flirty one on the team but now he had competition with this beautiful woman. He walked up besides her and smiled at her. “I need to ask you a quick question.”
“Sure.” Melinda looked at Brandon while walking before paying attention to where she was going.
“Where you flirting with me back there? Cause if you were, I absolutely loved it.” Brandon winked at her as she stopped and looked at him.
Melinda went near him and whispered, “Cause I think you are cute and adorable. But don’t tell anyone I said that.”
“I promise.”
Melinda smiled as she started walking again and walked into the locker room, showing her ID as the guard nodded and stopped Brandon.
“Who are you?” The tall guard asked him.
“I am Brandon Segal. I am the newest addition to the Dallas Stars,” Brandon answered.
“Oh yeah, Nieuwendyk told me about you. You can go in.”
“Thank you,” Brandon replied as he walked inside the locker room with Melinda as he saw the Stars talking to one another and saw Melinda go over to whom he supposed was the GM of the Dallas Stars. He walked over and waited for both Melinda and whomever she is talking to.
“Brandon Segal, you made it,” Joe Nieuwendyk, the GM of the Dallas Stars said, shaking Segal’s hand.
“Yeah, I did and thanks with the help of Melinda,” Brandon replied.
“That’s great. Oh here’s your jersey and your locker is right beside Steve Ott.” Joe Nieuwendyk showed Segal his jersey that had 24 and Segal on the back.
Segal smiled as he walked over and sat at his locker.
“Hi, Brandon, I am Steve Ott,” Steve Ott replied.
“Hi, Steve.” Brandon nodded. He was going to like this city and team. He can feel it.

Brandon grinned at the memory as he saw Melinda emerge from the bathroom, wearing a Segal t-shirt and black sweatpants. She walked over and sat besides Segal as she rested her head on his shoulder. Brandon kissed Melinda’s forehead as he watched the Chicago Blackhawks go against the Philadelphia Flyers, realizing that one day he will be on the top of the world with Melinda, with him raising the Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars. He can imagine it cause he will believe in himself.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“Just thinking how lucky I am,” he smiled and leaned down to return the kiss she bestowed upon him earlier. “You changed my life, Melinda and I can’t seem to find a way to repay you.”
“Baby, you don’t have repay me in anyway. No one should ever repay the ones they love.”
“You are amazing, you know that right. I want you to know something, if anything happens to me. If you ever loose me, I want you to know how happy you made me. How wonderful my life was with you and my daughter and I will always be with you.”
“Nothing’s going to happen to you. I promise you. We are meant to be with one another. You were meant to come to Dallas and meet me.”
“I know. I know you’re right. But if it does, I want you to be okay, Melinda and know you made me happy.”
“You made me happy, too, Brandon. Wait a minute where is this going to?” Melinda looked at him.
Brandon got up from the chair as Melinda sat down and looked at her. He kneeled down and took something out of his pocket as he flipped it opened up, revealing a beautiful wedding rock.
Melinda looked at Brandon shocked and then looked at his beautiful light brown eyes. She was about to cry as she knew exactly what he was going to ask her.
“Baby, it‘s okay. Melinda Anna Armstrong, will you marry me?”
“Yes, I will.”
Brandon took the ring out as he shakily put the beautiful ring on Melinda’s finger and kissed her lightly on the lips. “I want you to be my beautiful wife.”
Melinda wiped the tears off her face and kissed him on the lips. “I want to be your beautiful wife and you be my amazing husband.
Brandon sat back down as Melinda went near him and rested her head on his shoulder as she looked at her gorgeous engagement ring. “So when do you want your wedding?”
“I want to wait a few years before we get married and I want it to be in February. I want a beautiful Valentines Wedding.”
“Well then, baby, that’s what you are going to get.”

Brandon Segal was smiling in the mirror cause today was going to be happiest day of his life. He was going to get married to Melinda Armstrong, his beautiful fiancée of 4 years. He met her 4 years ago and now he’s going to get married. Also in present in the wedding was the Stanley Cup as the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup against the Philadelphia Flyers. He walked out of the altar and saw his best man, Steve Ott grinning at him too as he waited for the wedding to begin. He walked over and waited for Melinda to come down.
The ceremony began as Melinda walked in arm with her dad, Randy Armstrong as she smiled at Brandon who smiled back her. Brandon walked down as Randy gave Melinda her hand to him as he patted Brandon on the back.
Both Melinda and Brandon walked back to where Reverend Eric Camden was as he began “Welcome everyone, to the wedding of Brandon Segal and Melinda Armstrong. The beautiful ceremony of the commitment between these two as they become husband wife. Both Brandon and Melinda wrote their own vows.”
Brandon turned to look at Melinda and took the veil out of her eyes as he saw her beautiful brown eyes. “Melinda, when we first met, was the first time I was in Dallas after the Stars had picked me up from waivers. Right then and there, I knew you were the one and the way we connected afterwards. You have changed my life and made me realize that I can make out there in the NHL. You are one amazing beautiful woman and I am glad after this day to call you my wife.”
Melinda smiled as tears ran down her face as she saw Brandon. “Brandon, you are an amazing man of courage. You taught me how to be patient and ways that I never thought imagined. You helped me realize that life doesn’t always revolved around your job or money but happiness. I am glad to have known for 4 years and glad to know you are going to be with me for the rest of my life. I am glad to call you my husband.”
Reverend Camden looked at both of them before asking, “do you Brandon Segal take Melinda Armstrong to be your wife.”
“I do.” Brandon slipped on the beautiful wedding ring onto Melinda’s wedding finger.
“Do you Melinda Armstrong take Brandon Segal to be your husband?”
“I do.” Melinda slipped on the beautiful wedding ring onto Brandon’s wedding finger.
“You may now kiss the bride.”
Brandon walked towards Melinda and took her face softly as he kissed her lips. He knew that his life was different and that he couldn’t love without Melinda Armstrong. Now he can live with her and make her the happiest man in the world cause Melinda did that for him.
